I’ve done my set. I got all 10 songs into my 40 minutes and I started early so there was no pressure. The sound was decent, live streaming was easy and I got through with only a few minor glitches. But the video, unfortunately, was awful. Apparently it was to do with me wearing a dark jumper. The camera was self adjusting and almost completely bleached my face so I looked like a ghost. It’s part of the learning curve as they say. I’ll know better next time.
The guy running the gig was pretty impressed with the songs. To quote, “You’re a great writer”. He’s going to help me record them when that is possible. I just need to get my guitar tweaked to stop the strings zinging on the frets.
It seems to have been a ‘month of Sundays’ since I’ve had a weekend that didn’t revolve around some crisis or significant political maelstrom, not that I’ve been necessarily caught up in the storm. It’s just been swirling around in my head or I’ve got into a spat on Facebook. This weekend feels like it’s been uneventful but that’s not true. I’d say it’s been unstressful but that’s not true either. I can only put it down to the stress not being toxic and that’s probably because of where my focus has been.
The fund raiser is for some local Covid relief but it feels more like it’s been about Marmite, Mustard, Shoe Polish & Baked Bean Sauce.
